Huge interest for smart city expo in Stavanger
Nordic Edge Expo continues to grow following its successful start last year. With one week left, more than 1500 people have already bought their ticket.
– This is fantastic. In 2015 we were the biggest smart city conference in the Nordics with 523 attendants. This year we’re expanding with a big expo. We already have three times as many registered attendants as last year and we’re excited to see what the final number is going to be. New registrations continues to come in, says Herbjørn Tjeltveit, CEO of Nordic Edge Expo.
Nordic Edge Expo is about figuring out how new technology and digital solutions can be used to create better cities and communities. Over 60 speakers and about 100 exhibitors are ready to show and tell the audience about their ambitions and projects in this growing business area.
Microsoft is the biggest exhibitor. The plan was to bring 20 partners to their CityNext Exhibition, but they ended up with 33 as a result of massive interest from a world wide network. Other companies such as Cisco, IBM and ABB are also present, as well as a wide specter of large and small tech companies. Adding to that, a range of smart cities and municipalitites will be there. The same will a number of startups and EU projects. The delegates will arrive from ca 20 countries, mainly in Europe, but also from USA, Asia and Africa.
– Nordic Edge Expo aims to be one of Europe’s most important meeting places for everyone engaged in new technological solutions that make cities, businesses, organisations and homes smarter. These solutions are an important part of the answer to challenges facing the world, especially when it comes to the environment and increasing urbanisation, says Tjeltveit.
Nordic Edge Expo 2016 will take place on the 6th and 7th of October 2016 in Stavanger Forum.
